We built Brevr because we were tired of paying $35 a month just to use our own domain on a link shortener. We were tired of analytics dashboards that only kept 30 days of data. And we were really tired of links that broke the moment we downgraded our plan.
Today, we're launching Brevr — a link management platform built from the ground up on Cloudflare's edge network. It's fast, it's transparent, and it gives away the features that other platforms lock behind enterprise paywalls.
Here's what that actually means.
The problem with link shorteners today
Link shorteners haven't changed much in the last decade. The market leader still charges $35/month before you can use your own domain. Most services keep your analytics for a few weeks and then quietly delete them. And if you downgrade your plan? Your links stop working.
We think that's backwards. A link shortener should be a utility — reliable, fast, and affordable. The core features shouldn't be locked behind pricing tiers that only make sense for enterprise teams.
That's why we built Brevr with three promises:
- No feature paywalls. Custom domains, analytics, API access, smart routing, retargeting pixels, and link cloaking are included on every plan — including free.
- No centralized servers. Every redirect runs at the Cloudflare edge location closest to the visitor. 300+ global locations, average redirect under 50ms.
- No disappearing links. Your links work forever. Even if you downgrade to the free plan, every link you created keeps redirecting. We never hold your links hostage.
Built on Cloudflare's edge network
Most link shorteners route every click through a single data center. That means if you're in Tokyo and click a shortened link, your request might travel to a server in Virginia, get processed, and then send you to your destination. That adds latency — sometimes hundreds of milliseconds.
Brevr works differently. Your redirects run on Cloudflare Workers and KV storage, distributed across 300+ edge locations worldwide. When someone clicks your link in Tokyo, the redirect happens at a data center in Tokyo. Sub-50ms, globally.
This isn't just about speed for speed's sake. Faster redirects mean lower bounce rates, better user experience, and more accurate analytics — because fewer people abandon slow redirects before they're counted.
Custom domains on every plan
One of the most requested features in link management is custom domains — the ability to use links.yourbrand.com instead of a generic short URL. Most platforms charge a premium for this. Bitly requires their $35/month Core plan. Other services start at $29/month.
Brevr includes one custom domain on the free plan. Every domain gets automatic SSL/HTTPS, and you can select which domain to use on a per-link basis — perfect for agencies or brands managing multiple properties.
Need more? Pro gives you 5 domains, Business gives you 25, and Enterprise is unlimited.
Analytics that actually tell you something
A click count is not analytics. When you shorten a link with Brevr, you get real-time visibility into:
- Click volume over time — hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly trends
- Geographic data — countries, regions, and cities where clicks originate
- Device and browser breakdown — mobile vs desktop vs tablet, Chrome vs Safari vs Firefox
- Referrer tracking — see exactly where your traffic is coming from
- UTM parameter tracking — source, medium, campaign, term, and content
And here's where it gets interesting: Brevr's free plan keeps your analytics data for 60 days. Our Pro plan ($19/month) keeps it for 3 years. Compare that to Bitly's $29/month Growth plan, which only gives you 4 months of click history.
Smart routing: one link, many destinations
Not every click should go to the same place. Brevr's smart routing lets you send visitors to different URLs based on rules you define — all from a single short link.
- Geo routing — send visitors in the US to your English site, visitors in Japan to your Japanese site, visitors in Brazil to your Portuguese site.
- Device routing — route iOS users to the App Store, Android users to Google Play, and desktop users to your website.
- A/B split testing — split traffic between two or more landing pages and measure which one converts better, directly in Brevr's analytics.
Every routing rule includes a default fallback URL, so no visitor ever hits a dead end. And because routing decisions happen at the edge, they add virtually zero latency.
Retargeting pixels on pages you don't own
Here's a feature that changes how you think about link shortening: retargeting pixels. When you add a retargeting pixel to a Brevr link, the pixel fires during the redirect — before the visitor even reaches the destination page.
That means you can build retargeting audiences from traffic going to pages you don't control. Sharing a news article? A partner's landing page? A product listing on Amazon? Add your Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Pinterest, or Snapchat pixel — and every person who clicks that link gets added to your audience.
We also support custom JavaScript pixels for any platform we haven't pre-built.
QR codes, built in
Every link you create on Brevr automatically gets a QR code. No extra steps, no third-party tools. Download it, drop it into your print materials, packaging, or event signage — and track every scan in the same analytics dashboard as your link clicks.
Because the QR code points to your Brevr short link, you can change the destination URL anytime without reprinting anything.
API-first for developers
Brevr exposes a full REST API on every plan. Create links programmatically, pull analytics data, manage domains — everything you can do in the dashboard, you can automate via the API.
Rate limits scale with your plan: 100 requests/minute on free, 600 on Pro, 1,200 on Business, and 3,000 on Enterprise. We also support webhooks for real-time event notifications — 1 webhook on free, 5 on Pro, and unlimited on Business and Enterprise.
Pricing that makes sense
We designed Brevr's pricing around a simple idea: the free plan should be genuinely useful, not a bait-and-switch demo.
- Free — 2,000 links/month, 5,000 tracked events/month, 1 custom domain, API access, smart routing, retargeting pixels, QR codes. No credit card required.
- Pro ($19/month or $15/month billed yearly) — Unlimited links, 250,000 events/month, 5 custom domains, 3 years of analytics data retention.
- Business ($69/month or $55/month billed yearly) — Unlimited everything, 25 custom domains, unlimited team members, audit logs, 5 years of data retention.
- Enterprise — Custom pricing with SSO/SAML, unlimited domains, dedicated account manager, custom SLA, and unlimited data retention.
Custom domains, routing rules, retargeting pixels, link cloaking — all included free on every plan.
What's next
This launch is just the beginning. Here's a preview of what's on our roadmap:
- Link-in-bio pages — a customizable landing page for all your important links, hosted on your custom domain.
- Deeper integrations — Zapier, Slack notifications, Google Sheets export, and more.
- Advanced analytics — conversion tracking, funnel analysis, and custom dashboards.
- Open API documentation — interactive API reference with code examples for every endpoint.
We'll be sharing detailed updates on this blog and in our changelog as features ship.
